:: London Imperial War Museum, United Kingdom ::

The London IWM (Imperial War Museum) is a smaller cousin of the Duxford IWM.

While Duxford is predominantly focused towards aircraft, the Imperial War Museum in the capital places a lot of emphasis on conflicts, ground battles and marine battles with great attention to detail. It also portrays the horrors of the war with a huge model of Auschwitz that conveys a disturbing image of the extent of Nazi deathcamps.

The technology pit with the overhead aviation exposition is decent, even if it is small. Aviation is augmented by tanks and armored vehicles of every size and shape, artillery, early missiles and some of the planes that won the war, all contained under a roof that's an architectural masterpiece all on its own. Overall an enjoyable visit.
